De plaatsing van het nieuwe pijporgel in de Gereformeerde Kerk De Poort aan de Lange Dam op Urk nadert zijn voltooiing, al moet er nog een hoop gebeuren.

De afgelopen weken is hard gewerkt door de mannen van Orgelmakerij Boogaard. Daarmee is de ‘buitenkant’, het orgelfront, klaar. Vorige week maandag is ook de steiger afgebroken waardoor het front nu goed zichtbaar is in de kerkruimte. De komende weken zijn de orgelbouwers nog druk bezig met het intoneren van het orgel: elke pijp moet apart afgestemd worden op de kerkruimte. De verbindingen tussen de windlade en de orgelpijpen moeten nog worden aangebracht, en ook het speel- en registermechaniek moeten nog geheel speelklaar gemaakt worden. Natuurlijk moet het orgel daarna ook nog gestemd en geïntoneerd worden.

Maar nu de steigers weg zijn is het orgelfront vanuit de kerkzaal goed te zien. Tegen de Kerst hoopt men het orgel speelklaar te hebben.

The installation of the new pipe organ in the ‘Gereformeerde’ Church De Poort on the Lange Dam in Urk is nearing completion, although much still needs to be done.

Over the past few weeks, the craftsmen from Organ Workshop Boogaard have been working hard. As a result, the ‘outside,’ the organ front, is now finished. Last Monday, the scaffolding was also taken down, making the organ front now clearly visible in the church space. In the coming weeks, the organ builders will be busy with the intonation of the organ: each pipe must be individually tuned to the acoustics of the church space. The connections between the wind chest and the organ pipes still need to be installed, and the action and registration mechanism must also be fully prepared for playing. Of course, the organ will also need to be tuned and voiced afterward.

But now that the scaffolding is gone, the organ front is clearly visible from the church hall. It is hoped that the organ will be ready to play by Christmas.
