De voormalige gereformeerde Zijdekerk aan de Zijde in Boskoop is alsnog verkocht.

Het kerkgebouw staat al vier jaar leeg omdat de kerkelijke gemeente er in 2021 de laatste dienst hield. De nieuwe eigenaar, een projectontwikkelaar, heeft de verkoop bevestigd en deelde mee op korte termijn te willen beginnen met de bouw van zorgwoningen in het kerkgebouw. Maar er is nog geen vaste planning bekend voor wanneer die woningen klaar zullen zijn. Onduidelijk is dus of de eerder gerapporteerde juridische problemen rond het verkrijgen van vergunningen inmiddels zijn opgelost.

Hoe dan ook, de Historische Vereniging Boskoop is opgelucht dat er nu eindelijk vooruitgang lijkt te zijn na jaren van leegstand. Men maakte zich namelijk zorgen over het risico op verval van het pand in het centrum van Boskoop.
