Verkiezing van ‘het mooiste kerkgebouw van Nederland’. 

Inwoners van Andijk worden opgeroepen om hun stem uit te brengen op het plaatselijke (monumentale) kerkgebouw van de Gereformeerde Kerk ten behoeve van een landelijke verkiezing voor ‘de mooiste kerk van Nederland’.

De verkiezing is georganiseerd naar aanleiding van een initiatief van dagblad Trouw, dat deze zomer op zoek gaat naar het meest bijzondere kerkgebouw van het land.

Volgens de initiatiefnemers biedt de verkiezing aandacht voor het religieuze erfgoed in Nederland. Kerkgebouwen spelen volgens hen niet alleen een belangrijke historische rol, maar zijn vaak ook een herkenbaar onderdeel van het straatbeeld en het sociale leven in een gemeenschap.

Andijkers die het lokale gereformeerde kerkgebouw willen ondersteunen, kunnen nog tot 1 juli 2026 hun stem uitbrengen. Deelnemers wordt gevraagd de naam van de kerk, de plaats en eventueel een korte motivatie in te sturen. ‘Een deskundige jury’ zal uiteindelijk een keuze maken uit de ingezonden nominaties.

Election of ‘the most beautiful church building in the Netherlands’.

Residents of Andijk are being encouraged to vote for the local (historic) building of the ‘Gereformeerde’ Church in a nationwide competition to select “the most beautiful church in the Netherlands.”

The competition was organized following an initiative by the newspaper Trouw, which is spending this summer searching for the country’s most remarkable church building.

According to the organizers, the competition aims to draw attention to the Netherlands’ religious heritage. In their view, church buildings not only play an important historical role but are often a recognizable feature of the streetscape and of community life.

Residents of Andijk who wish to support the local ‘gereformeerde’ church building can cast their vote until 1 July 2026. Participants are asked to submit the name of the church, its location, and, if desired, a short statement explaining their choice. An “expert jury” will ultimately make a selection from the nominations received.

With this appeal, supporters hope that the Andijk church will achieve a high ranking in the national competition.
