Ter gelegenheid van het 75-jarig bestaan van de twee kerkgebouwen van de Protestantse Gemeente Sibculo-Kloosterhaar is een jubileumeditie van het kerkblad ‘Onze Kerk’ gepubliceerd.

De speciale uitgave van het kerkblad heeft te maken, zoals we al eerder meldden, met het 75- jarig bestaan van zowel de protestantse (voormalig hervormde) Fredrikskerk in Kloosterhaar als de protestantse (voormalig gereformeerde) Kloosterkerk in Sibculo. Ter gelegenheid daarvan worden dit jaar meerdere activiteiten ondernomen, waaronder de jubileumuitgave van het kerkblad, dat in een oplage van 1.500 exemplaren in beide dorpen huis aan huis werd bezorgd. Het nummer telt 24 pagina’s, is keurig en kleurig gedrukt op glad papier. Het vertelt in korte hoofdstukjes het een en ander over de geschiedenis van beide kerken en kerkgebouwen.

De Fredrikskerk.

De eerste gedeelte van het boekje is gewijd aan de hervormde gemeente en haar in Kloosterhaar gelocaliseerde Fredrikskerk, die op 17 december 1950 in gebruik genomen werd. Foto’s van onder meer de eerstesteenlegging en de bouw van de kerk illustreren het verhaal. De ledentallen van 1956 tot 2025 en lijst van predikanten besluiten het geheel.

De Kloosterkerk.

Het tweede deel van de jubileumuitgave handelt over de historie van de Gereformeerde Kerk en de kerkgebouwen: het vroegere schoolgebouwtje dat werd verbouwd tot de kleine Klompenkarkie (met foto), en de definitieve Kloosterkerk, in 1974 uitgebreid met bijgebouwen. Om geld voor de bouw van de kerk (en van de pastorie) bijeen te brengen kon je destijds voor vijftig cent een steen kopen. Het resultaat was uiteindelijk een mooi kerkgebouw. Eén pagina is besteed aan de bijzondere glas-in-loodramen van de Kloosterkerk, elk met een afbeelding betreffende een Bijbeltekst.

Ook over de orgels wordt bericht. Eén pagina over het welluidende orgel en zijn voorgangers van de Fredrikskerk. De volgende pagina handelt over het orgel van de Kloosterkerk; het tegenwoordige instrument werd op 22 maart 1991 in gebruik genomen.

Op weg naar de fusie.

Twee pagina’s worden vervolgens besteed aan het Samen-op-Wegproces: ‘Van samenwerken via federatie naar fusie’ van beide kerken, welke in 2019 plaatsvond. De Protestantse Gemeente Sibculo-Kloosterhaar is dus in het rijke bezit van twee mooie kerkgebouwen.

Anniversary Issue – Protestant Congregation Sibculo-Kloosterhaar.

To mark the 75th anniversary of the two church buildings of the Protestant Congregation Sibculo-Kloosterhaar, an anniversary edition of the church magazine Onze Kerk (“Our Church”) has been published.

As reported earlier, the special edition of the church magazine commemorates the 75th anniversary of both the Protestant (formerly Dutch Reformed) Fredrik Church in Kloosterhaar and the Protestant (formerly Reformed) Klooster Church in Sibculo. Several activities are being organized this year to mark the occasion, including this anniversary edition of the church magazine, of which 1,500 copies were delivered door to door in both villages.

The issue contains 24 pages and has been neatly and attractively printed in colour on high-quality coated paper. In short chapters, it tells various aspects of the history of both churches and their buildings.

The Fredrik Church.

The first part of the booklet is devoted to the Dutch Reformed congregation and its Fredrik Church, located in Kloosterhaar, which was officially opened for use on 17 December 1950. Photographs, including those of the laying of the foundation stone and the construction of the church, illustrate the story. Membership figures from 1956 to 2025 and a list of ministers bring this section to a close.

The Klooster Church.

The second part of the anniversary edition deals with the history of the Reformed Church and its church buildings: the former small school building that was converted into the little Klompenkarkie (with a photograph), and the present Klooster Church, which was expanded with additional buildings in 1974.

At the time, to raise money for the construction of the church (and the parsonage), people could buy a brick for fifty cents. The eventual result was a beautiful church building.

One page is devoted to the Klooster Church’s distinctive stained-glass windows, each depicting an image related to a Bible passage.

The organs are also discussed. One page describes the fine-sounding organ and its predecessors in the Fredrik Church. The following page deals with the organ of the Klooster Church; the present instrument was put into use on 22 March 1991.

On the way to the merger.

Two pages are then devoted to the Samen op Weg (“Together on the Way”) process: the process by which the two churches went “from cooperation, via federation, to merger,” which took place in 2019.

The Protestant Congregation Sibculo-Kloosterhaar is therefore fortunate to possess two beautiful church buildings.
