De protestantse (voormalig gereformeerde) Wilhelminakerk in Bussum is ook de komende tijd bezig met de viering van het eeuwfeest.

Naast de jubileumdienst en de publicatie van een gedenkboekje hield de schrijver van het jubileumboekje, de heer Klaas Oosterom, een interessante lezing over de geschiedenis van de protestantse Wilhelminakerk, die in 1926 door De Gereformeerde Kerk te Bussum in gebruik genomen werd.

Tijdens de een anderhalf uur durende lezing kwamen talloze interessante historische gegevens voorbij, vaak voorzien van illustraties via de beamer. Aan het eind van de bijeenkomst kon nog een aantal vragen gesteld worden. De laatste vraag ging over de toekomst van de Wilhelminakerk. Die vraag werd in het kort beantwoord door de voorzitter van de wijkkerkenraad. Daarbij gaat het om een mogelijke rol van de kerk bij de activiteiten van de bibliotheek in Bussum, die moet uitbreiden.

The Protestant (formerly ‘gereformeerde’) Wilhelmina Church in Bussum will continue celebrating its centenary in the coming period.

In addition to the anniversary service and the publication of a commemorative booklet, the author of the booklet, Mr. Klaas Oosterom, delivered an interesting lecture on the history of the Protestant Wilhelmina Church, which was inaugurated by the ‘Gereformeerde’ Church of Bussum in 1926.

During the hour-and-a-half lecture, numerous fascinating historical facts were presented, often accompanied by illustrations shown via a projector. At the end of the meeting, attendees had the opportunity to ask several questions. The final question concerned the future of the Wilhelmina Church. This was briefly addressed by the chair of the local church council. The discussion focused on a possible role for the church in supporting the activities of the Bussum library, which needs to expand.
